Join the Choir – we would love to see you!
We meet every Thursday during term time and new members are very welcome. Feel free to come and sit in at any time, although ideally it is best for newcomers to start a new term, when we all begin rehearsing a new selection of musical pieces.
If you enjoy singing with us you will eventually have to cough up a subscription (£50 a term, with a full range of concessions – do not let the cost deter you), but the first term is free!
Singing in parts can be a bit bewildering if you are new to it, but is immensely satisfying as you become more confident.
We will do everything we can to help you to settle in, and will buddy you up with a member of your voice group to help you gain the confidence to sing out.
We do not require auditions, but if you would like advice to help decide which voice part is best for you our wonderful director Georgina and fantastic accompanist Graham can help you to work this out!
Although we sing mostly from music, the choir members have varying degrees of ability to read music with any fluency. The most important thing is that our rehearsals are focused on ensuring choir members are thoroughly acquainted with the music, so when the next concert comes around we are ready to step onto the stage and sing with confidence. We perform concerts for family and friends at regular intervals throughout the year including Christmas, Easter and Summer.
